ABOUT AGNES + CAT
Agnes + Cat began in 2017 with a simple idea: create natural products that feel honest, handmade, and connected to the slower pace of cottage life. The Lake District shaped those early days - the misty mornings, rolling hills, and calm villages fed straight into the fragrances and the feel of the brand.
In 2019, the workshop moved to Sheffield, but the philosophy never changed. Everything is still made here in the UK by hand, by a small team that takes pride in traditional craft. That sense of British heritage runs through the whole range. It’s there in the ingredients we choose, the methods we use, and the quiet, timeless look of the packaging.
Handmade production keeps the brand personal and close to its roots.
Working by hand means every batch is checked, adjusted and finished with real attention — not pushed through automated machinery. It allows for better texture, better fragrance control and a level of finish that feels genuinely crafted.
It also supports local jobs, protects traditional skills and keeps the products aligned with the cottage-inspired story at the heart of Agnes + Cat.
Even the name found its place along the way. What started as something playful grew into a statement of what matters to us:
Authentic, Gentle, Natural, Ethical Scents + Candles, Aromas, Treats. That line captures the heart of Agnes + Cat — honest products, made well, with a clear sense of purpose.
At the end of the day, the brand is about rituals that make life feel calmer. A bar of soap that actually feels good. A candle that brings the room down to a softer pace. For retailers, it’s a range with a story, a strong identity, and customers who come back because the products feel grounded, real, and part of a British craft tradition that still means something.
Nature sits at the centre of everything.
From the ingredients we use to the places that inspire each fragrance, the range is built around a gentle, grounded connection to the world outside. The Lake District is still our anchor point, but so is the everyday nature people surround themselves with — the scent of a garden after rain, a walk by the water, the warmth of a cottage kitchen. We want our products to bring that feeling indoors in a simple, honest way.
Fragrance Philosophy - Lake District inspired notes
Crafted Through Layers
We build each scent in considered layers. Bright top notes echo open landscapes, soft florals and herbs form the heart, and warm, earthy bases bring depth. The result is a fragrance that feels balanced, grounded and effortless to live with.
Inspired by the Lakes
Every fragrance begins with a moment from the Lake District — fresh lake air, wild herbs on the fells, cottage gardens after rain. These are the places that guide our blends and give the range its calm, natural character.
Nature in Every Composition
The ingredients and notes we choose reflect the simplicity of nature itself. Nothing harsh. Nothing overwhelming. Just fragrances that feel clean, gentle and rooted in the landscapes that inspired them.
Scent as a Journey
Fragrance has the quiet ability to transport us. A single note can take you back to a favourite place or spark an entirely new one. Our blends are designed to create those small escapes — a walk, a memory, a feeling of stillness.
For Retailers
Agnes + Cat brings a brand with real identity and steady repeat business. Customers recognise the natural scents, the handmade quality, and the quiet British charm that stands out on any shelf. The range is easy to merchandise, tells a clear story, and appeals to shoppers looking for gifts, self-care, and something a little more thoughtful than mainstream products. It’s a brand that builds loyalty, adds warmth to your displays, and gives your shop a point of difference that feels genuine and enduring.
Looking ahead, the goal is to keep building a brand that stays true to its roots while offering more to the people who love it. That means continuing to develop natural, handmade products here in the UK, expanding the fragrance story of the Lakes, and creating thoughtful collections that feel good to use and good to gift. Growth for us isn’t about becoming louder or flashier — it’s about staying consistent, deepening the connection with nature, and giving customers more reasons to return to the rituals they enjoy.
